HOW IS THE AIR INSIDE YOUR HOME?
Let's clear the air regarding the environmental conditions in your home.
The indoor air that you and your family are breathing may be more compromised than you realise.
Most comtaminants found in indoor air are invisible — a long list of harmful chemicals, natural allergens and man-made pollutants. Event heavy metals such as lead.
To help you and your family breathe easier, Nikken offers the Air Wellness Power5 Pro.

AIR WELLNESS POWER5 PRO
The Nikken Power5 Pro features powerful multistage and HEPA air filtration. It produces negative ions — like the air found in invigorating forest settings.
Only the Nikken Power5 Pro has all these features:
- Five-stage advanced filtration
- Ozone-free technology
- Negative-ion generator
- Dust and silent modes
- Particle sensor
- Remote control
- Low noise level
- Energy efficient
- Automatic fan control
- Air quality display
- Easy filter replacement
- Sleek, lightweight design
- Low-maintenance operation
5-STAGE FILTRATION
The Nikken Power5 Pro features several filter technologies. They include carbon filtration and a unique system that uses organic plant materials to neutralise contaminants. The final stage is a HEPA filter, just like those in laboratories and hospital operating rooms. This is the absolute standard of excellence in air filtration.
Filter replacement: Clean the reusable prefilter/mesh filter. Inspect the other filters every 6 months and replace if necessary.

- STAGE 1 & 2
- STAGE 3
- STAGE 4
- STAGE 5
Stage 1 & 2 — Prefilter/mesh filter combination
The prefilter and mesh fabric
filter remove larger dust
particles, mould, pet hair and
more. This coarse particulate
matter, dirt, pollen, mildew and
hair represents a major source
of contaminants.
The prefilter/filter combination is
made of long-lasting, reusable
material and has two important
functions. In addition to serving
as primary filtration, it traps
larger particles before they can
reach the ultrafine end-stage
filters. This prolongs filter life
and helps the entire system to
deliver maximum performance.
Stage 3 — Neutralising Filter
The neutralising filter uses a
unique, natural means to
destroy microscopic
contaminants. It contains plant
material that attracts and
retains these molecules. This
organic substance disrupts the
irritant properties of these
particles, without the use of
synthetic chemicals.
Scientific tests of the
neutralising filter were
conducted that used several
identified contaminants. Test
results revealed that this
filtration stage alone
neutralised more than 99% (the
upper limit of the test
measurement) of these
contaminants within half an
hour of use.
Repeated testing after one
hour, two hours, three hours
and four hours, continued to
show up to 100% inactivation
of the irritant particles.
Stage 4 — Activated carbon filter
Activated carbon adsorption is a
classic, simple, yet highly
effective means of reducing
contaminants, where matter
adheres to the surface of an
agent. Charcoal carbon is ideal
for adsorption because its
irregular shape offers a large
surface area.
Activated carbon or charcoal is
natural carbon that has been
treated with oxygen to open up
millions of tiny pores between
the carbon atoms. The use of
special manufacturing
techniques results in highly
porous carbon that has a surface
area of up to 2,000 square
meters per gram.
In other words, two grams of
this material — less than a
teaspoon — presents a total
surface that is approximately
equivalent to a football field.
This absorptive capacity makes
an activated carbon filter ideal
for removing airborne particles.
Stage 5 — HEPA filter
The last stage of filtration employs
a HEPA filter. HEPA (high
efficiency particulate air) filters
are an extremely effective air
filtering technology.
HEPA filters were first developed
for use with nuclear reactors. They
are now used in medical operating
rooms, in high-tech industries (for
example, computer chip
manufacturing) and other
applications where clean, pure air
is critically important.
Certified HEPA filters meet a very
rigorous standard: they remove
particles as small as three-tenths
of a micron. (One micron — 1.0 μm — is one-millionth of a
metre.) They
accomplish this level of filtration
with a verified 99.97% efficiency.
Moreover, due to the unique
construction characteristics of
HEPA technology, particulate matter
that is smaller than 0.3 μm — too
small for most lab instruments to
measure — is filtered with even
higher capture rates.
Using the diffusion principle, the
Power5 Pro can intercept particles
as minute as 0.1 μm. That is as
much as 10 times smaller than the
size of staphylococcus bacteria.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long is the warranty?
Standard one-year warranty from date of purchase. (See Owner Manual for details.)
Why do other air filter systems produce ozone?
There is more than one reason. Some products are actually
designed to emit ozone, because their manufacturers make
health claims regarding this compound.
Other air filter systems create ozone as a byproduct. The Air Wellness
Power5 Pro has patented technology that avoids this problem.
What is the clean air delivery rate (CADR) for the unit?
When the Power5 Pro is on the Turbo setting it will filter 5.63 cubic metres per minute. This is based on a 41.7 square metre room, which equals 101 cubic metres if the ceiling is 2.4 metres high.
All the air in the room will be circulated through the Power 5 in approximately 2 hours at the lowest setting. However, a
significant change in the room air quality may be perceived well
before all the air is refreshed. On the Turbo setting, all of the air
will be circulated approximately 3 times per hour. The time it
takes to affect the room air quality may vary depending on how
much pollution is in the air at the start of the operation.
What is the difference between Silent mode and Sleep mode?
The Silent mode is selectable, and maintains a lower fan speed
when quiet operation is desired.
The sleep function is activated when the unit is set in the Auto
mode. It automatically sets the Power5 Pro to a quiet running
speed after the room goes dark and remains darkened for three
minutes. When the room lightens, the Power5 Pro will reset to
full auto mode after four minutes.
In the Dust mode, the unit seems to adjust the speed setting
often. Why?
The Dust mode operates the unit at alternating speeds, from
level 1 (for approximately 30 minutes) to level 3 (approximately 10
minutes). It has been found that varying the fan speed at these
intervals is the most efficient, fastest way to clear the air when
fine dust is present.
The air quality indicator light is bright in a dark room. Is there
a way to dim it?
When the Power5 Pro is set in the Auto mode and the room goes
dark, the sleep function will be activated and this light will go out.
The literature for the Power5 Pro says that no filter cleaning is
required, but it also states that the unit contains a washable
prefilter. Which is correct?
The Power5 Pro features a reusable prefilter and replaceable
filter elements — a combination that eliminates the messy filter
cleaning required with some other home air systems.
The reusable prefilter is designed to capture large contaminants
before they can reach the other filters. When necessary, this prefilter
can be easily cleaned by vacuuming or rinsing. Replacement
filters are available in a convenient filter pack.
Can the Power5 Pro be used in a commercial environment?
If used in a commercial facility, depending on the type of work
performed the Power5 filters may need to be changed more
frequently than when used in a residence.
Does the Power5 Pro remove bacteria?
The HEPA filter in the Power5 Pro can remove particles as
small
as one-third micron in size, which is smaller than many
bacteria.
However, the Power5 Pro is not specifically rated
as a bacteria reducing
device.
Are the filters electrostatic?
There is no electrostatic filter in the Power5 Pro.
